Effect of ECAP process on mechanical properties and microstructure of AA-6061 recycled chips

چکیده
The oxidation of aluminum machined chips makes successful recycling via the traditional re-melting technique difficult. A viable solution to this problem is utilize solid-state transform directly into semi-finished goods, eliminating costs process and minimizing CO2 emissions. In present study, Al-6061 alloy have been recycled using hot extrusion followed by severe plastic deformation at ambient temperature examine material's mechanical properties microstructures. current study investigates effects equal channel angular pressing samples after (1, 2, 4) cycles a die with 90° 20° angles, strain 1 was applied each pass for maximum four room temperature, through different routes (BC, C) on specimens before process. Observations showed significant improvement in characteristics exposed ECAP technique. Maximum ultimate tensile strength (265, 238 MPa) yield (149, 136 MPa), elongation failure (46 41%) both were obtained. Moreover, increases strength, micro-hardness while increasing failure. ECAPed higher than extruded specimen. microstructures chip significantly influenced number passes route types.
